After the recording day, we had a redistribution of work regarding post-production, and at this stage, I was mainly responsible for the music selection. I looked for suitable background music from two main perspectives: triggering key storylines and mood.

When considering from a plot perspective to choose the background music, I again understood the plot of the six parts of the script and filtered out the key storylines from them. I have filtered out three key storylines, the first being Max's encounter with David, the second when Max begins to suspect David's identity, and the third when Max and David begin to have an intensive conflict. I explored which line was the point to trigger the key plot and tried to add appropriate music after that line.

The second step is that I need to go through the three different plots, summarise the emotion I want to convey to the listener, and then search for the appropriate music based on some keywords. I choose Fesliyan Studios[1] as the main source of music as it has free copyright[2] for non-commercial use. After selecting the appropriate music I created a document[3] on the group's shared Drive with my music choices and interpretations and had a meeting to discuss the post-production issues including music selection. The reason I think this is necessary to discuss is that background music exists to stimulate the emotions of the listeners, and everyone feels differently about the same track. I asked my group to be my audience and we all listened together and then discussed how we felt about the music being placed in this scene. Finally our studio manager suggested reducing one music clip, as our whole story was only six minutes long, it would have been a bit confusing to insert three music clips. I was not very confident that the music I chose would work and we had different opinions on this matter, but in the end, I am grateful to my group members for working with me to choose and finalise the music to achieve the final result.

The post-editing and the selection of the SFX sound, which was mainly handled by the producer and the studio manager, involved me in the voting and discussions, and together we adjusted each draft.
